I was wondering if it's okay if we become affiliates with Pokepasta Wiki. They are a Pokemon-related wiki and have a decent amount of pages and edits. They also have many good admins who enforce the rules and keep users in line. They do have many visitors so I think that they would help increase wiki traffic here, so we can get more help with articles and such. I would like to hear what you guys think about this.
Please use the support and oppose templates. Thanks.

Wiki News Team!

The wiki admins have decided to start a monthly newspaper for the wiki. We currently are open for positions, so if you want to start writing for the paper, please follow the steps below.

If you need to stray from the release schedule you agreed to when applying for any reason (such as going on vacation or handling an emergency off of the wiki), be sure to contact the DarknessDragon(The Paper's Supervisor) that you submit your sections to: we will work something out.
If you can't submit your section for that month, but you have a reliable friend who can fill in for you, then absolutely ask them to provide us with a section in your stead and inform your relevant team director of the arrangement.
Feel free to suggest new section ideas or even apply for an already filled position, for we don't mind two different perspectives on a similar subject.
If you have any more questions about signing up and writing for the wiki news, please contact DarknessDragon.
The application form is as follows:

1.) Which position would you like to apply for?
2.) Writers have the choice to submit sections monthly, bi-monthly (every other month), or volunteer-based (one-time submission). Please select which section plan you would like to observe.
3.) The staff reserves the right to remove writers from their position if their actions reflect badly. Actions like these include extensive misbehavior on any part of the community. Do you accept this condition?
4.) You must agree to comply with our policies at Manual of Style. Failure to do so may result in immediate rejection.

The Wiki Staff will have a week to review your application, and you will receive your results within a couple of days after the week passes.
We currently need editors, interviewers, and writers. So feel free so sign up for any one of them if you'd like! (Note:You can only have one position so that the parts don't get filled up too fast.)
If you have any questions about the paper feel free to contact me or DarknessDragon. Thanks!

Wiki News:Manual of Style

We want to balance the quality of content presented in the newsletter and help our writers improve their writing skills. To do so, we must have a base standard for the content allowed in this newsletter.
If you are unsure about anything concerning the newsletter or its guidelines, feel free to contact the Wiki News Staff. We're more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Basic Formatting:
We strive to release the best issues each month, which means having well-formatted articles. While the core staff members do edit sections with formatting errors, all writers are expected to do their best to maintain their own section quality before sending them in. To properly format your section to match the standards, we advise you to:

Use appropriate grammar and spelling. If English is your first language, there should be no excuse for a cluttered mess of an article. Sections should be easy to follow and understand, so you should do your best to punctuate sentences, space out paragraphs, and spell words correctly and to double check to ensure proper flow.
If English is not your first language, feel free to ask a staff member to be an editor for you. Provided your sections aren't too incomprehensible, they are obliged to assist you.
Wiki code. Most articles only use the most basic of Wiki coding, so we want writers to code their sections appropriately. This means sections should not be formatted using forum formatting. This page provides a simple explanation of basic wiki formatting.
For any images you may use in your section, please upload them externally and send the link to the Supervisor. The Supervisor will upload to the wiki the images when the issue is released. Do not upload images to the wiki before the issue is released.
While we encourage our readers to follow our guidelines on number formatting, we consider them just that; suggestions that don't necessarily need to be followed 100%.

Single-digit numbers (one through nine) should be spelled out as words rather than as numerals. So instead of typing 4 or 8, you would type four or eight.
Any numbers that are mutually associated with a specific topic within the article should be written out consistently, e.g. “She had ten PokeDiamonds, then used one and was left with nine,” as opposed to “She had 10 PokeDiamonds, then used one and was left with 9.”
If two numbers are written next to each, one should be written as a word and the other as a numeral, e.g. “ten 10-year old dogs,” as opposed to “10 10-year old dogs.”
If a sentence begins with a number, that number should be written out as a word rather than as a numeral.
Strong Content:
Strong Content is defined as any material seen as potentially offensive to any person or group of persons, such as swearing, crude humour, spoilers, sexual references, and other such terms. The paper is against the use of strong content in the newsletter, so we have guidelines to ensure our writers don't use them.

We do not allow the usage of swear words.
Quotes, song lyrics, poetry and the like are exceptions to this rule.
Sexual references are not acceptable within the same boundaries as swear words as illustrated above.
Slurs of any kind will NOT be accepted in any way or form in this newsletter, and any submitted sections found to use any discriminatory labels or jokes will be rejected immediately. If you are unclear on what constitutes a slur, inquire with a staff member prior to submitting your section.

Category format

These are the rules for adding categories, so users don't add unneeded categories to an article(whether they don't understand what they are doing or if they do it to farm edits). I recommend that everyone takes into account the following format or necessary action will be taken. (This is for Pokemon articles only so far, and it doesn't include Mega Pokemon)
There are only 6-7 categories needed for each article. There are normally six, but there are seven if the Pokemon is a legendary. The six necessary categories are listed below;

Pokemon (obviously, but it's automatically added when the Pokemon template is used)
Pokemon with the ability <the pokemon's ability> (EX:Pokemon with the ability opportunist)
<the pokemon's type>-type Pokemon (EX:Flying-type Pokemon)
Pokemon with an attack power of <the attack power> (EX:Pokemon with an attack power of 30)
Pokemon found in <where the pokemon is found> (Please don't add the stage number! It should look like this:Pokemon found in Puerto Blanco)
Pokemon with a base catchability of <the pokemon's base catchability> (EX:Pokemon with a base catchability of 60%)
If the Pokemon is a legendary, please add Legendary Pokemon as a category. Also, please make sure that you add the categories with the same grammar and capitalization as the ones above, or they will be corrected and any further action will be taken.
If you need to know any of the information for adding the categories, you can look at the article to find what you need. If it isn't there, you can ask someone, or look it up.
Thanks a lot to everyone who decided to help this wiki grow!
EDIT:If it's a Pokemon that's is found in an Escalation Battle, instead of adding the base catchability category, add Escalation Battle Pokemon as a category instead. Hope that clears it up for you!

Editing bot

The admins here think that there should be an editing bot around here to sort articles into categories automatically. All the uncategorized articles are getting in the way because the contributors here are having trouble finding them. We all think this bot will be helpful, but we want the community to decide first. Please state if you support or oppose the new bot.
What the bot will be named and who will run it will be decided here.
If we have enough support to create the bot, we'll ask Wikia to flag it using this post. Thanks!
